Let's Build...

Whitney King’s advisory follows a structured framework of discovery, design, and implementation. We partner with leadership to diagnose core challenges, develop high-impact systems, and ensure long-term sustainability through deep cross-sector expertise.

Operations & Performance Consulting

Organizations often have policies, procedures, strategic goals, and performance expectations that were developed at different times and for different purposes. The result can be a gap between what leadership expects, what organizational documents require, what employees actually do, and what the organization measures. Whitney King works with organizational leadership to examine these connections and determine whether current operational structures support the organization's desired outcome.

Services may include:

  • Review existing policies, procedures, workflows, strategic priorities, and performance measures.

  • Meet with leadership and selected team members to understand how written procedures translate into daily operations.

  • Identify gaps between organizational goals, policies, procedures, staff responsibilities, and actual performance.

  • Review existing KPIs and determine whether they measure the outcomes leadership actually wants to achieve.

  • Develop or refine practical KPIs, benchmarks, and accountability measures.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks, duplication, unclear responsibilities, and implementation barriers.

  • Facilitate leadership strategy sessions.

  • Develop prioritized recommendations and an implementation roadmap.

  • Conduct follow-up reviews to assess progress.

Deliverables:

Depending upon scope, clients may receive an Operations & Performance Assessment, KPI scorecard, gap analysis, leadership recommendations, implementation roadmap, revised workflow recommendations, and/or executive strategy presentation.

Best For:

Growing organizations, nonprofits, human-service organizations, community organizations, behavioral health organizations, and leadership teams experiencing growth, inconsistent performance, unclear accountability, or a disconnect between policies and actual operations.

Legislative Policy & Advocacy Consulting

Organizations frequently understand the problems affecting the people they serve but may struggle to translate those experiences into concise, actionable information for policymakers. Whitney King helps organizations clarify policy concerns, organize supporting information, identify stakeholders, and prepare leadership for productive conversations with legislators and public officials.

Services may include:

  • Clarify the policy or legislative issue.

  • Review relevant organizational information, legislation, regulations, public reports, and available data.

  • Identify how a proposed or existing policy affects organizations and communities.

  • Help organizations distinguish operational problems from issues requiring legislative or regulatory action.

  • Develop legislative talking points, issue briefs, one-pagers, and meeting materials.

  • Prepare organizational representatives for meetings with legislators or government officials.

  • Facilitate stakeholder conversations.

  • Help identify organizations, professionals, families, or community stakeholders whose perspectives should be considered.

  • Assist policymakers or organizations with gathering structured stakeholder feedback.

  • Translate complex service-delivery issues into understandable policy considerations.

  • Develop post-meeting action plans and follow-up strategies.

Deliverables:

Policy briefs, legislative one-pagers, stakeholder maps, meeting preparation materials, talking points, policy-impact analyses, facilitated roundtables, recommendations, and advocacy action plans.

Program Expansion & Strategic Growth

Growth requires more than increasing the number of people served. Organizations must determine whether the program itself, workforce, partnerships, operations, funding, infrastructure, and performance measures are ready to support expansion. Whitney King works with organizations that have an established program, service, initiative, or concept and are considering expansion into new populations, communities, markets, partnerships, or funding opportunities. Whitney's role is not to personally perform every component of the expansion. Instead, she helps leadership identify what needs to happen, who needs to be at the table, and how the pieces fit together.

Services may include:

  • Assess the existing program model and current performance.

  • Clarify what expansion means for the organization.

  • Evaluate program readiness and operational capacity.

  • Identify resources required for growth.

  • Review staffing, infrastructure, partnerships, funding, and implementation needs.

  • Identify potential barriers to expansion.

  • Develop expansion KPIs and success measures.

  • Identify potential strategic partners and external resources.

  • Facilitate introductions or collaborative conversations when appropriate.

  • Work alongside specialized partners such as Binchmark, ENTR, and other subject-matter resources when their expertise is needed.

  • Develop a phased expansion roadmap.

Deliverables:

Program Readiness Assessment, SWOT/gap analysis, expansion strategy, partnership map, resource requirements, KPI framework, implementation timeline, and 90-day/6-month/12-month roadmap.

Best For:

  • Clarify the founder's mission, population, service model, and organizational goals.

Pick Whitney's Brain

Not every challenge requires a full consulting engagement. Sometimes a leader, entrepreneur, or organization needs an experienced outside perspective before deciding what to do next. Pick Whitney's Brain is a focused strategy session that gives clients direct access to Whitney's experience, questions, perspective, and strategic thinking around one clearly identified issue. This is not a presentation or training. It is a working conversation.

Bring Whitney one challenge, idea, opportunity, or question. Whitney will review the issue with you, ask questions, challenge assumptions when appropriate, help connect pieces that may have been considered separately, and explore possible next steps.

The conversation may consider factors such as organizational operations, policy, people, funding, partnerships, implementation, community impact, stakeholder perspectives, or available resources depending on the issue presented. The goal is not for Whitney to make the decision for you. The goal is for you to leave the conversation seeing the issue more clearly and knowing what deserves your attention next.

You may want to Pick Whitney's Brain if:

  • You have a business or program idea and aren't sure where to begin.

  • You're considering expanding an existing service.

  • Your leadership team keeps encountering the same organizational challenge.

  • You're preparing for an important stakeholder or policy conversation.

  • You need an outside perspective before making a significant decision.

  • You know something isn't working but haven't identified the underlying issue.

  • You have several possible directions and need help organizing your thinking.

  • You're trying to determine who needs to be at the table.

  • You're wondering whether your issue requires a larger consulting engagement or another type of professional resource.

You should leave the session with:

  • Greater clarity about the issue.

  • Potential blind spots or considerations to explore.

  • Identification of people or resources that may need to be involved.

  • Prioritized next steps.

  • A clearer understanding of whether additional consulting or specialized professional support is needed.
